Title: I Don't Want You To Be My Lucky Star
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Author: Saida
Pairing: TezuRyo
Genre: Angst, Romance
Notes: This was written last year for the 'Are You Feelin' Lucky contest' and posted in fanfiction.net xDD

Snow has now descended the earth, covering the ground in white. I walk down the snowy path, towards the cemetery. My heart still feels the loss, the warmth that I will never feel again.

I walked, walked till I reached the grave of my love; Tezuka Kunimitsu. Memories started to flood my head. I clutched my heart as I sat next to Tezuka’s grave, ‘My Kunimitsu’s grave.’ I closed my eyes as I started having flashbacks.

FLASHBACK

I had just won the French Open. Kevin was unfortunate to have sprained his ankle in the middle of the tournament but Ryoga managed to get second. When I was receiving the trophy, I could see Kunimitsu in the crowds. He was there, cheering for me on and on, in his own way.

I slipped away from the ending ceremony to mine, Kevin’s and Ryoga’s rest room. There, waiting for me, is the one I’ve been longing to see for so long, my love; Tezuka Kunimitsu.

Hey,” I said, entering the room.

Hey,” he replied and pulled me close to him.

Kunimitsu gave me a ‘welcome’ kiss, and I opened my mouth, giving him permission into my mouth. I moaned a little as Kunimitsu explored his tongue in my mouth. I was really enjoying this little heaven and it seems like Kunimitsu is enjoying it as well. Unfortunately, we ran out of breath.

Ryoma,” Tezuka said, looking at me. “Congratulations on winning the French Open.”

Thanks,” I said, as we took a seat on the couch and I leaned my head on Kunimitsu’s broad chest. “I’m glad you came to see me.”

Aah,” was Tezuka’s only reply.

But what did you tell your parents anyway?”

They thought I’m here for a study course,” Tezuka answered.

Kunimitsu,” I said, burying my face in his buttoned-up t-shirt. “What if you got in trouble with your family?”

Tezuka wrapped his strong arms around his lover. ‘Although Ryoma is now a pro tennis player, but he still has a small frame and a little short for his age,’ he thought. Tezuka then chuckled at that.

I looked up to face my lover. “What’s so funny?”

It’s nothing,” Tezuka answered.

Kunimitsu was about to lean down and give me another doze of heaven when the door to the room opened. At the doorway, Kevin, Ryoga and Echizen Nanjiroh; my father and current coach, stood.

Ryoma, gross,” Kevin said. “Can’t you do that in a locked room at least?”

At the age of 15, Kevin’s father had passed away, thus leaving Kevin an orphan. Since Kevin has no other living relatives, Echizen Nanjiroh had stepped up and adopted Kevin as one of the Echizens’.

Kev is right, Chibisuke,” Ryoga said, chuckling.

Without warning, I threw two cushions at both of them. “Ouch!” they cried in unison. I glared at the three of them.

Alright, alright, we’re going,” Kevin said. “Geez,” he muttered under his breath.

Ah, young love,” their father said. “Don’t stay up too late, seishounen.”

And don’t do something inappropriate, Chibisuke,” Ryoga added in, chuckling. Nanjiroh laughed as well as the three of them exited the room.

Baka oyaji, baka aniki,” I growled at them.

Come on, Ryoma, take your shower,” Tezuka instructed.

You won’t come with me?” I asked, using my seductive voice.

However, as hard as it was to see Kunimitsu’s expression since he was still stoic as ever, it was also hard to seduce the ex-Seigaku tennis team captain. “No, Ryoma,” Tezuka answered. “We’re going out tonight so there’s no time to play around.”

I pouted but followed as instructed by Kunimitsu. At 6.30 p.m., I finished my shower and everything. “So, where are we going, Kuni-bu?”

It’s a surprise,” Tezuka said.

Kunimitsu handed me something. It was a bandana. “What’s this for?” I asked, curious. I know what a bandana is for, but why is Kunimitsu giving it to me?

Let me help you with it,” Tezuka said.

He went behind me and tied the bandana around my eyes. “Kunimitsu, I can’t see anything,” I said.

Good,” Tezuka whispered in my ear. “Don’t take it off,” he said in a husky voice.

God! His voice was so sexy, I felt like I want to cancel everything that Kunimitsu had planned and return to the hotel immediately. Then, Kunimitsu led me out and to the car that he had rented.

The ride to the destined place was silent. Although it was silent, but Kunimitsu and I understood each other’s need. We feel content just being next to each other. I love the feeling when the breeze brushed my hair back. I could hear the sea, I assumed, crashed with each other. It was like music to my ears.

Kunimitsu, why is tonight special?” I asked.

If I tell you anything, Ryoma, then it won’t be a surprise anymore, would it?” Tezuka said.

A small smile crept on my face. ‘True,’ I thought.

About an hour later, I felt the car stopped. Then, Kunimitsu said, “We’re here.”

Finally,” I said while Tezuka undone the bandana.

Here we are,” Tezuka said after he removed the bandana. He turned me around so that I was facing the view instead of him.

I gasped in amazement. The deck at the beachside was decorated with colorful lights, and the deck, a table was set for two. Suddenly, Kunimitsu picked me up from the ground.

Kunimitsu, what are you doing?” I cried, surprised. “Put me down.”

No,” Tezuka answered and he carried me bridal style to the deck.

Whoa,’ I thought. I never would have thought that Kunimitsu could be this romantic. On the table that was prepared on the deck, there were two plates, two wine glass, two forks and spoons, and a candle in the middle. The table was covered with red rose petals.

Fuji was the one who planned how to decorate the table,” Tezuka told me.

I chuckled silently. ‘So much for Kunimitsu being romantic,’ he thought. “So, what are we eating?”

Kunimitsu took out a picnic basket from under the table. From the basket, he took out various kind of sushi, and knowing my love for Japanese food, he even bought some Japanese cuisines.

Where did you get all these food?” I asked.

It’s hard but I manage to find a very good Japanese restaurant nearby,” he answered. I smiled as we ate.

Ne, Kunimitsu,” I said, starting a conversation.

Aah.”

Do you…Do you know what I was thinking during the tournament?” I asked, smiling.

What is it?” Tezuka asked.

I was thinking of you, and the time when you said, ‘Be my pillar of hope’,” I quoted. “Thinking about that makes me want to win.”

Ryoma,” Tezuka said, looking at me with a smile. I could feel a tint of blush forming on my cheeks. I looked back at my food and continued eating.

After we were done with dinner, we lay on the beach, under the stars. Kunimitsu leaned against the tree while I lay my head on Tezuka’s laps. Kunimitsu caressed my hair softly. Secretly, I love it when he stroked my hair. “Kunimitsu,” I moaned softly.

Ne, Ryoma,” Tezuka said.

Yes?”

Don’t you think the stars tonight shines brightly?” Tezuka asked.

From my position, I sat up and put my head at Kunimitsu’s chest. I looked at the sky, the same direction as Kunimitsu. “Yes,” I answered.

Ryoma, do you know that everyone has their lucky star?” Tezuka asked.

I didn’t say anything. A few moments later, I looked at Kunimitsu, and he was looking back at me. “Ne, Kunimitsu, would you be my lucky star?”

Kunimitsu’s poker-face broke into a smile. “Of course,” he answered. He leaned down and whispered in my ear, “I’ll be your lucky star, just like you are mine.” He gave me a kiss behind my ear, making me moan softly.

Then, Kunimitsu moved down to my neck and bit it softly. I moaned again. He licked the bitten spot, making me moan for the third time. Both of us lay on the beach, kissing each other. I opened my mouth so that he would have entry into it, and he did the same. We explore each other’s mouth. ‘Kunimitsu tastes so sweet,’ I thought, smiling inwardly.

END OF FLASHBACK

“Everything was fine just a few weeks ago,” I said to no one in particular. I didn’t realize that tears are now running down my face. “Why can’t everything stay the same?”

FLASHBACK

Three weeks after the French Open, I returned to Japan from America. I never thought a big surprise awaits me there.

The day after I returned from America, as always, I slept in; today was different however.

Ryoma,” Kevin’s loud voice was heard as he knocked on my door.

What?” I asked, half-asleep.

The door opened and there he was; Kevin, stood in the doorway. “Come on, get dressed. It’s noon already.”

So what?” I said, once again burying my head under my pillow.

Don’t you have a date today?” Kevin asked.

I immediately sat up, realizing the day and the time. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Kevin smirking. ‘Damn, I knew he did it on purpose.’ Grumpily, I got out of bed, and went to the bathroom. I glared at Kevin, my adopted brother, as he chuckled while saying, “Careful now. We don’t want you to bruise yourself now, do we?” I growled and slammed the door.

After I was done taking my bath, I was surprised to see Kunimitsu is already waiting for me in the living room. However…my vein twitched. “What are you two doing?” I asked when I saw the scene that greeted me. Ryoga and Kevin are currently interrogating Kunimitsu, again.

Ooops, I guess we’ll take our leave, Tezuka-kun,” Ryoga said. “Ja ne, chibisuke,” he added in as he went outside to the back door.

See ‘ya,” Kevin said, as he followed behind Ryoga.

Those two are really…” Twitch.

Tezuka chuckled. “It’s alright, Ryoma.”

I looked at him. “So, where are you going to take me today?”

To see my parents,” Tezuka answered.

I knew this day will come sooner or later. Well, I thought it will be sooner, since Kunimitsu had already proposed to me the night I win the French Open, after our little ‘make out’ session.

Are we really going to see them?” I asked. Kunimitsu nodded his head. “Do they know what’s going to hit them?”

Kunimitsu let out a deep breath. “No. I only told them that there’s something important that I need to discuss.”

Oh boy,” I said.

Kunimitsu took my hand and squeeze it a little with reassurance. “Don’t worry; I’ll always be there to protect you. I’m your lucky star, aren’t I?”

Uisu,” I answered and Kunimitsu gave me a peck on my cheek.

However, something unexpected happened that very day. Kunimitsu was really true to his words.

Ryoma, I could have brought you to some place better,” Tezuka said.

I looked at him. “I’ve been eating expensive cuisines for the last few months,” I told him. “I’m glad that I could finally eat cheeseburgers and fries again.”

I heard Kunimitsu sighed. “Ryoma, you and your appetite,” he said. I chuckled.

Kunimitsu and I were the only two to cross to the other side. It was green light for those who wanted to cross, so I started walking. But suddenly, I heard Kunimitsu calling my name. When I turned, I saw a truck, speeding my way. My eyes opened wide, I tried to move, but I can’t. It was like my body won’t listen to me. I saw Kunimitsu running towards me and pushed me aside. Then, I remembered nothing as my vision went black.

Kunimitsu, Kunimitsu!” I cried as soon as I woke up.

Chibisuke,” Ryoga said. I looked beside me. It seems like Ryoga was waiting beside me this whole time.

Then, I heard someone yawn. I looked at the couch and saw Kevin. “You’re finally awake,” he said.

How long have I been unconscious?” I asked.

Three days,” Kevin answered.

Three days?’ Suddenly, a thought dawn me. “How is Kunimitsu? Where is he?”

Kevin and Ryoga looked at the ground, trying to avoid my gaze. I felt like my heart stopped. “Aniki, Kevin, wh-where is Kunimitsu?” Again, Kevin and Ryoga looked away. “Damn it, why won’t you look at me?” I cursed angrily.

Chibisuke, Tezuka-kun—”

He died,” Kevin cut in.

I felt like my whole world crumbled. My vision was clouded with tears. “W-When?” I asked.

Tezuka-kun died immediately at the spot,” Ryoga answered, still not meeting my gaze. At that time, I can’t hold it any longer. So, I cried. I cried my heart out. ‘K-Kunimitsu died because of me.’

Ryoga and Kevin couldn’t do anything, but just watched as their little brother cry.

Because I didn’t have any major injuries, I could return home the next day. After arriving home, I asked Ryoga to take me to Kunimitsu’s grave. Ryoga obliged to my request.

Kunimitsu’s grave was located just under the cherry blossom tree, just the place where he love. On his grave, his name was carved ‘Tezuka Kunimitsu; Beloved Son’ and under it, ‘1986-2008’.

Kunimitsu, why did this have to happen?” I said to no one in particular. “We were going to be happy; we’re going to spend our future together.” I could feel my tears fall to my cheeks again. “Kunimitsu, I love you,” I said.

What are you doing here?” a voice said angrily.

I was startled. I turned around. It was none other than Tezuka Kuniharu, Kunimitsu’s father.

I—”

Isn’t it enough that you have already ruining my son’s future?!”

Tezuka-san,” I said. “I—”

Leave this cemetery at once,” Tezuka Kuniharu said angrily.

But Tezuka-san, I—”

Tezuka Kuniharu was about to slap me when Ryoga went in front of me and held his hand thus preventing him from striking at me.

You don’t need to use violence, Tezuka-san,” Ryoga said through gritted teeth. “I am more than willing to take my little brother home.” Ryoga looked at me. “Let’s go, Ryoma.” It’s clear that Ryoga is feeling angry towards Tezuka Kuniharu, and besides that, he’s using my name instead of the nickname he gave me.

END OF FLASHBACK

I chuckled as I wiped off the tears from my face. “Kunimitsu, you were always true to your words; always true till the end,” I said to no one in particular. I traced my finger on Kunimitsu’s grave. “You promised you’ll be my lucky star, and you did. You died because of it, and now, I regretted it. I don’t want you to be my lucky star.” I then lay my head on the cold stone. “I love you and always will love you, Tezuka Kunimitsu.”

Genre: Failed angst
Notes: This is a sequel to Beach, the Takayama drabble ----> HSJ drabble
While waiting for my Chemistry exam to end, I fell asleep...=.=;; and I was...dreaming...lmao~! Of mpreg. hahaha! That is what you get for reading too many mpregs and wishing that there is more Takayama or HSJ mpreg...*pouts* Not that I don;t like the Ryoda or Akame mpreg...hehehe^^

Footsteps could be heard, footsteps of someone running. Takaki panted when he arrived in front of the hospital room, the hospital room vacated by someone important.

“Takaki…”

Takaki looked when he heard his name being called by the leader of Hey! Say! JUMP; Yabu Kota. Hikaru and Daiki were there too, and so were Chinen, Ryutaro, Yuto and Keito.

“What happened? How is Ryosuke?” Takaki asked, walking closer towards the other BEST members.

Yabu just shook his hand, didn’t say a word.

“What happened, Yabu?” Takaki’s voice cracked a little.

“He fell.”

The two words might seem simple, but those two words had crashed Takaki Yuya’s world. His body shook a little, his hands trembled. The members of 7 just watched as the older teen talked. Chinen holding hands Ryutaro, while Keito had his hand around Yuto’s shoulder.

“Apparently, the janitor had forgotten to put the warning sign after cleaning the floor,” Daiki said.

“Yama-chan was in a hurry, and he rushed up the stairs,” Hikaru continued. “He slipped.”

“Gomen, Takaki-kun,” Yuto said. “I didn’t get there in time to catch him.”

Takaki could feel a lump forming in his throat. “How is Ryosuke?” he asked, after regaining his voice.

“You should see for yourself,” Yabu said, motioning towards the door. “He wouldn’t talk to anyone.

Takaki nodded his head. After taking a deep breath, he opened the door.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Takaki’s heart wrenched when he saw Yamada’s condition. Yamada was curled up on the bed, his back towards Takaki. He was also given the IV drip. Takaki slowly walked towards the younger teen. The closer he get, the louder he heard Yamada’s cries; even though he tried to hide it.

Takaki caressed Yamada’s hair. Takaki felt Yamada stiffened a little. “Ryo-chan…” Yamada didn’t answer, he pretended to be asleep. Takaki sat at the edge of Yamada’s bed. “Ryo-chan, I know you’re awake.”

Yamada’s breath hitched.

“Ryo-chan, talk to me,” Takaki said. After that, Yamada broke down completely. It killed Takaki, listening to his lover’s painful cries. Takaki kissed Yamada’s forehead. He whispered, “I’m always here for you, Ryo-chan.”

“This wasn’t supposed to happen, Yuya,” Yamada cried. His voice hitched. “I-I…,” his hand automatically went to his stomach. “I could feel it moved inside me,” he said, “Now it’s gone,” his voice barely above whisper.

Takaki didn’t realize that he had started crying, not until the salty liquid fell onto his hand. “Oh, Ryosuke,” he said, burying his face in Yamada’s hair. “We’ll try again. I promise. And I won’t let anything happen to you next time. I promise.” He closed his eyes as the tears flow onto his cheeks. ‘I promise.’

“I’ve talked to Johnny-san,” Sho said. “He agreed.”

   “No,” Ohno said.

    “But riida…”

Ohno sighed. “Sho, I don’t think I can do that,” he told his band mate. “I can’t leave Arashi.”

“Riida, this is for your own good,” Sho reasoned. “Arashi won’t disappear without you.”

    “But…”

Sho looked at Ohno directly in the eye. “What would happen if you lose the baby?”

Ohno kept his silence. He knew what Sho said was right.

FLASHBACK

The night Ohno was taken to Yuuki’s clinic, Yuuki decided to keep him overnight.

“It will be easier for me to monitor him that way,” Yuuki told Ohno and Sho.

Sho and Ohno looked at one another. Then, Ohno nodded his head, agreeing with Yuuki’s suggestion. He was given a room at the top floor, the same floor Yuuki lives in. That way, no one would know about him, including the nurses.

It was already midnight, but Ohno couldn’t sleep. He shifted from his right, to his left, to his right again. He sighed.

Suddenly, the light was turned on. Ohno saw Yuuki standing by the doorway, holding two mugs in her hands.

    “Can’t sleep?” she asked.

Ohno sat up on his bed. “Yeah.”

“Here’s some hot chocolate,” Yuuki said, handing the mug to Ohno.

“Thanks,” Ohno said, accepting the mug with gratitude.

Yuuki took a sit on the chair next to Ohno’s bed. “So, how are you feeling? Any discomforts?”

“No, everything’s fine,” he answered. After taking a sip of his drink, he looked at Yuuki. “Ne, Yuuki-san, why did you become a doctor?” When Yuuki didn’t answer, Ohno added in, “Sorry, I shouldn’t ask that.”

“No, it’s alright,” the doctor said. She smiled. “I just never expected it, that’s all.” There was a short pause before she continued, “Well, my family owns a hospital in Sapporo. My dad was a doctor, and so was his dad.”

“So, you’re a generation of doctors?”

“I guess so,” Yuuki replied, and both of them laughed. “Ne, Ohno-kun, why did you decided to keep that baby? If the media finds out, wouldn’t it be bad?”

“Yes, it would,” Ohno, replied. “But when I think of aborting this child inside of me, I feel like a part of me disappeared. It’s like I’m attached to it already.”

Yuuki smiled. “That’s sweet,” she said.

Ohno chuckled. “But I’m really giving trouble to Sho. His relationship with Aiba-chan is on a rocky road because of me.”

“Don’t worry about Sho,” Yuuki said. “He knows what he’s doing.” Ohno gave Yuuki a look. “Okay, probably he doesn’t, but he knows how to handle it.”

    Ohno sighed. “You’re right.”

“You have to stop that, Ohno-kun,” Yuuki said.

Ohno gave Yuuki a weird look. “Stop what?”

“Sighing,” she said. “It’s not good for the baby.”

“I can’t help it,” Ohno said. “There’re lots to think about. The conflict between Arashi members right now, and what’ll happen if Johnny-san and everyone else finds out.”

“Ohno-kun, what about taking a vacation?” Yuuki asked. Ohno didn’t answer. “It’s okay if you can’t decide yet. But sometimes, Ohno-kun, you have to think for your own sake.”

Yuuki stood up and left the room, leaving Ohno by himself, thinking. In her own room, she took out her cell phone. She browsed her contact list and stopped at the name, ‘Sakurai Sho’.

Sho just finished his shower when his phone rang. “Moshi moshi,” he answered the phone as he lay on his bed. “Yuuki-senpai?”

“Sorry for disturbing you at this time of the night, Sakurai,” Yuuki said. “But there’s something I’d like to talk to you about.”

“What is it? Is this about Ohno?”

“Well, yes, it is,” she said. “Sakurai, I think it’s better if you take Ohno somewhere far from all this for awhile. At least, until his further along in his pregnancy.”

“I understand,” Sho said. After ending the call, he sighed. ‘I’m going to have a long day tomorrow.’

--------------------------------------------------------

    Sho bowed. “Onegaishimasu!”

“Sakurai-kun, you do realize what you’re asking me?”

Still bowing, Sho replied, “Yes, I do.” When Johnny didn’t say anything, he added, “I know this is too much to ask, but…”

“This has something to do with Ohno-kun, isn’t it?”

Sho looked at Johnny. “H-How did you know?” he asked, surprised.

“I saw both you and Matsujun carrying Ohno to your car.”

    “Oh.”

“I won’t ask what happened but in return, will you promise to be responsible for anything that’s going to happen in the future?” Johnny asked, looking directly at Sho.

    “I will!” Sho answered firmly.

“Very well,” Johnny said. He put both his hands on his desk. “The press conference will be held the day after tomorrow.”

“Hai!” he replied. After a short pause, Sho said, “Is this for real?”

“Sakurai-kun, I can take back my words any time.”

    “Uh, please don’t,” Sho, said.

Johnny disguised his chuckle with a cough. “Now, if there’s nothing more…”

Sho knew that was his cue to go. “Oh, thank you very much,” Sho said, bowing again at Johnny before leaving the room.

Johnny sighed. “Arashi has really grown,” he said to himself. “I could just feel a big storm coming. Hopefully their ties will be strong enough to go through this.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sho took a deep breath before entering Arashi’s dressing room. He knew everything would be tense in there. When he entered, Aiba didn’t even look at him. He just sat next to Nino, keeping a safe distance from Sho. Nino, on the other hand, is still giving Sho the cold glare. If looks could kill, Sho knew he’d be dead by now.

Suddenly, someone put his hand on Sho’s shoulder. It was Jun. “Patience is a virtue,” he said before going towards an empty seat in the dressing room.

‘Since when does Matsujun becomes so good with words?’ He looked at Aiba. ‘But Jun’s right.”

    “Where’s riida?” Jun asked.

“He stayed overnight at Yuuki-senpai’s clinic.”

    “Ah, I see,” Jun said.

Sho eyed Aiba when he thought no one was looking.

“Staring won’t do you any good.”

Sho looked at Jun to see the younger man looking at him. “W-What?”

Jun just continued reading his book. After a short pause, Jun said, “Don’t you have a photo shoot now?”

Sho looked at his wristwatch. “Hai~!” He stood up. He took a deep breath before walking towards Aiba.

    “S-Sho.”

“Masaki, l-let’s meet up tonight,” he said, looking straight into Aiba’s eyes. However, Aiba turned his gaze to the ground. Sho can’t help but feel a little hurt, but he knew that it was partly his fault too. He turned to Nino and gave a little nod before he left.

Nino just glared at Sho’s back. He turned to Aiba and his glare softened. “Aiba-chan, don’t break down now,” Nino whispered to Aiba.

Aiba wiped the tears forming in his eyes. “Sorry Nino, but I need to talk to Sho. I need to know from his mouth. Why he did this?”

Nino looked at Aiba hard. “You’ll just end up hurt.”

“But don’t you want to know?” Aiba asked. “What’s really going on between Sho and riida?”

“Isn’t it enough? The things that we know, isn’t it enough already?”

“But there must be a good explanation for this.”

    “Ai-…”

“Aiba-chan!” Matsujun cut in. “You promised me a drink.”

“Oh yeah, I almost forgot,” Aiba said. He stood up. “I’ll buy it from the vending machine.” He looked at Jun. “The same drink as yesterday?”

    “Hai~!”

“Okay, I’ll be going now,” Aiba, said. He looked at Nino with a reassuring smile and left the room.

Jun went to sit next to Nino. “It’s good if you stop making Aiba think bad things about Sho.”

Nino looked sharply at Jun. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Don’t let your jealousy blinds you,” Jun said. “Don’t let your anger make you forget about our friendship.”

Nino just grumbled in response and left the room.

END OF FLASHBACK

“Sapporo?” Ohno and Sho said, surprised.

“Yes,” Yuuki said. “My family owns a hospital there, so it’ll be easier for me to examine you, Ohno-kun. Besides, the equipment there is complete compare to this place.”

    “But…” Sho said.

Yuuki looked at her old kouhai. “Other than that, Ohno-kun could have a little stress-free vacation.”

“But with someone found out?” Ohno asked.

“Don’t worry about that,” Yuuki said. “You can stay at my mansion.” She shrugged. “Me and some other maids are the only ones who live there,” she said. “I could also keep a close eye on Ohno-kun that way.” She smirked. “Then, Sakurai wouldn’t be too worried.”

Sho blushed. “Yuuki-senpai, what are you trying to say?!”

Yuuki and Ohno laughed. “That means you’re a good friend, Sho,” Ohno said.

“He’s embarrassed,” Yuuki said, still smirking.

“Maa~” Realizing what time it is, Sho immediately stood up. “Oh no, I have an appointment with Masaki today.” He looked at Ohno. “Do you want me to send you home?”

“I’m just pregnant, not handicapped,” Ohno said, smiling. “I can return home on my own.”

Sho just nodded his head, “I guess I’ll get going.”

Ohno stood up. “I should too.”

After saying goodbyes, they parted ways.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Masaki, sorry I’m late,” Sho said as he sat in front of Aiba. They were having dinner at a sushi restaurant.

Aiba kept his eyes on the menu. “It’s okay,” he said.

“Uhm…” Sho trailed off. Neither one said a thing for a short while, until Sho broke the silence.

    “Masaki…”

At the same time, Aiba asked, “Why did you lie?” He looked at Sho. “Last time, when we’re supposed to be having dinner together, why did you lie about where you are?”

    “I-…”

Aiba’s heart beats fast. ‘Sho, why can’t you answer?’

    “I-…”

“Come on, Sho,” Aiba said. “If you did nothing wrong, you can tell me your reasons.”

“That’s not the problem, Masaki,” Sho said. “Gomen, I can’t tell you.”

“Then what’s the point of going out tonight?” Aiba stood up to leave. Before he could go, Sho quickly took Aiba’s hand.

“Don’t go, please,” Sho said. “I love you.”

Aiba closed his eyes. ‘Three simple words could do anything.’ “Okay,” he said. ‘I want to give him a chance.’ “I’ll stay.”

Notes: This is my first time writing Hey! Say! 7 fanfiction so they might be OOC. Aside from that, I truly wanna apologize for making Chinen die, so don't kill me. lol. Hope you enjoy...^^,

Yamada ran into the hospital, frantically searching for the operation room Chinen was in. ‘Please be alright,’ was his thought as he went along the hallway.

EARLIER THAT DAY

As usual, Yamada was the first to arrive to Hey! Say! Jump’s dressing room. Or so he thought. When he pushed open the door, he heard someone crying. It was Chinen.

‘Chinen,’ Yamada thought. It always hurts him to see the shortest member of Hey! Say! Jump cry. Knowing something was wrong, he immediately ran in. “Chinen,” he called out, putting down his sling bag, and squatted down in front of Chinen.

“R-Ryo-chan,” Chinen said in between sobs.

Yamada hugged the shorter boy. He wished he could do more. No! He wanted to do more to comfort Chinen, but he was scared. Afraid that Chinen might not feel the same way.

“I’ve actually arrived early today,” Chinen told his tale. “And…on my way to our dressing room, I-I saw Ohno-kun…a-and, h-he-he and N-Ninom-miya-kun was k-kissing.”

Yamada could feel a pang in his heart, but he remained silent and continued soothing Chinen.

“T-They w-weren’t even a-aware that I w-was there,” Chinen cried.

Yamada finally found his voice. “Please don’t cry, Chinen. It’s not worth crying about.”

“B-But I like O-Ohno-kun,” Chinen sobbed.

Yamada’s heart clenched. “There’s someone better for you,” he muttered.

“Eh?” A surprised Chinen said, looking at Yamada. “Ryo-chan?”

‘I’ve said it, so there’s no turning back,’
Yamada thought. “Chinen, Ohno-kun is not the only one out there. There’re still lots of other people there for you.” ‘Including me.’ “So, please stop crying.”

Chinen sobbed. “But I really like Ohno-kun.”

Yamada couldn’t stand it anymore. “Chinen, why can’t you stop being a spoiled brat?!”

Before Chinen could say anything, Yamada bolted out of the dressing room. He bumped into Yabu, and the rest of BEST in the process.

“Hey!” Yabu said, but Yamada continued on walking. He didn’t even stop to apologize.

“I wonder what’s up with Yamada,” Takaki said. The others agreed.

Suddenly, Hikaru said, “Hey guys, listen.” They did, and they heard someone sobbing.

“It sounds like Chinen,” Yabu stated.

“It is Chinen,” Takaki said.

They went into the dressing room. “What happened?” Arioka asked.

Chinen turned towards the older member. Arioka opened his mouth and was about to repeat the question when Chinen ran out of the room.

“What’s up with that?” Inoo asked.

“Chinen sure is acting un-Chinen like,” Takaki exclaimed.

A few minutes later, 7 members entered the room.

“Why did Chinen run out?” Ryutaro asked.

“And where is Ryo-chan?” Yuto asked. “He told me he’s coming early to rehearse the dance step.”

“We saw him leave the room,” Takaki said.

The other eight members of Hey! Say! Jump shrugged, and dropped down on the couch. ‘This is truly weird.’

AN HOUR PASSED

“Yamada and Chinen aren’t here yet?” Hey! Say! Jump’s manager asked for the third time in a day.

“No,” Yabu shook his head.

“Shouldn’t we tell the manager what happened earlier?” whispered Ryutaro to Keito.

“Leave it be for awhile,” Keito whispered back. “We don’t want to create trouble for them.” Ryutaro just nodded.

They stopped their conversation when their manager’s cell phone ring.

“Hello,” the manager said.

All eyes were on the manager. They saw a grave expression on their manager’s face. They were all curious now.

“I understand,” the manager said. “I’ll inform Johnny-san immediately.”

After the manager ended the phone call, Yabu asked, “Who was that? What’s wrong? What is it that you have to tell Johnny-san?”

“Alright,” the manager said. “Before I say anything, it’s better if all of you sit down.”

They did as told. “Now will you please tell us?” Inoo said.

“That was a call from Tokyo Hospital,” their manager said. “It seems like Chinen-kun was involved in a hit and run.”

“What?!” the members of 7 and BEST said.

“That must be some kind of joke,” Keito said in English.

“But he was well this morning, although he seems down a bit,” Yuto said.

“Apparently Chinen-kun is in a critical state,” the manager said. When the idols didn’t say anything, the manager said again, “Please excuse me. I need to inform Johnny-san.”

Before their manager could leave the room, Yabu asked, “Can we visit him now?”

The manager thought about it for a few seconds. “Sure, but please be careful.”

“Thank you,” everyone said and left the room.

YAMADA RYOSUKE

After running out of the room, Yamada had gone to the park a few blocks from the company.

‘Why did I say all those things to Chinen?’ Yamada thought. ‘I’m such an idiot. He was hurt and you yelled at him.” Yamada swung the swing he was sitting on slowly. He was usually passion when Chinen acted like that, whenever Chinen was hurt by what he saw, by what he saw Ohno-kun did. “But why can’t I keep my feelings to myself today? Why did I snap?”

Yamada’s cell phone rang. It was Yuto. “Hello,” he said.

“Ryo-chan, where are you?” Yuto asked.

“I’m at-”

“Never mind,” Yuto cut in. “Just get to the Tokyo Hospital quickly.”

“Tokyo Hospital?” ‘Why?’ Yamada thought. ‘Yuto sounds serious so it must not be a joke.’ “W-What happened?”

“It’s Chinen,” Yuto said.

As soon as those words came out of Yuto’s mouth, Yamada immediately turned of his cell phone and ran towards the Tokyo Hospital.

PRESENT

Yamada saw all the BEST and 7 members seating on the benches outside the operation room. For some reason, Yamada could feel that the atmosphere there was all wrong. It simply didn’t feel right. Ryutaro was crying, Yuto wasn’t his cheerful self and the older members eyes were all red.

“I-I came as fast as I could,” Yamada said. “S-So, where’s Chinen? I bet he can’t wait to sit on Takaki-kun’s lap again.” Yamada forced a laugh.

Everyone looked at Yamada. As the leader, and the oldest between all the member of HSJ, Yabu knew it was his duty to break the news to Yamada. Yabu stood up.

“Yamada,” he said. “C-Chinen…”

Yamada put both hands at his ears. “No!” he yelled.

Yabu took a hold of Yamada and forced the younger boy to look at him. “Listen to me, Yamada. I know this is going to hurt you, but you have to accept the fact.” Tears swelled in Yamada’s eyes. “Chinen is no longer with us.”

Upon hearing those six words, Yamada finally broke down. He dropped to the ground, and cried. Yabu dropped to the same level as Yamada.

“You can cry all you want,” Yabu said soothingly. The other members just watched Yamada sadly. They all knew the secret he’s keeping, they knew his feelings for Chinen.

“I didn’t get a chance to apologize,” Yamada cried. “‘Why can’t you stop being a spoiled brat?!’ Those were my last words that I told him.”

“Yamada, we all have regrets,” Yabu said. “But you must move on. I’m sure Chinen would want that too.”

“I just wish I could say I’m sorry,” Yamada said. He continued crying, while Yabu held him, trying to comfort him.

Title: It's Time To Let Me Go

                                                                                       xoxoxoxoxox

Ryoma's POV

I was walking down the hall of the Seijou University. I am Echizen Ryoma, senior student of Psychology Department at Seijou University. The freshmen and juniors greeted me as they passed by.

“Ryoma-senpai,” a girl I recognized as Haruzawa Mika, a second year student from the Psychology Department.

“Hai,” I said as I stopped walking. Mika was in front of me.

“Uh, I was wondering…if you would like to have this,” Mika said, holding out a red box decorated with white and golden ribbons towards me.

“Haruzawa-san,” I said, a little surprised. Then, I remembered. Today was 13th of February, the day before Valentine’s Day. I sighed. ‘I can’t believe it’s been that long already.’ I looked at Mika. “Haruzawa-san, I-”

Mika cut in, “Just accept it, senpai,” she said. “I know that your heart is closed but just accept this chocolate, as a friend.”

I nodded my head and Mika smiled, putting the box in my hand. After saying, “Ja ne,” she walked passed me, leaving me staring at the box of chocolate. A memory returned to him.

Seventeen year-old Ryoma and nineteen year-old Tezuka were walking home after having a tennis match. Although they were walking in silence but both were content. Even in the silent, they seem to know what the other is thinking about. A smiled plastered on both their face.
Suddenly, Tezuka made a turn at the park. Although he was confused, he just followed the former Seigaku tennis team captain, his lover.

“Kunimitsu,” Ryoma said as he followed Tezuka’s action by sitting on the bench.

“Hai, Ryoma?” Tezuka asked.

“Why are we here?” the shorter boy asked.

“Just enjoying the breeze,” the first year student at Seijou Academy Law Department answered.

Ryoma raised his eyebrow. “Seriously, Kunimitsu,” he said.

“I have something serious to ask you,” Tezuka said, looking at Ryoma seriously for quite some time without saying anything.

“Kunimitsu, don’t scare me.”

“Echizen Ryoma, do you like chocolates?” he asked in a monotone voice.

“Huh?” Ryoma said. He twitched. “Tezuka Kunimitsu,” he growled. “I thought it was something serious!”

Tezuka chuckled and gave the Seigaku High School buchou a light kiss on the lips. “Gomen,” he said.

“Kuni-bu, we’ve been going out for two years,” Ryoma said, calling Tezuka by his nickname. “You should know by now.”

“I just wanted everything to be perfect.”

Ryoma raised an eyebrow. “You want WHAT to be perfect?”

“Himitsu,” the older teen said and although how stubborn Ryoma is, he didn’t ask any further because he knew Tezuka was equally stubborn.

POTPOTPOTPOTPOTPOT

Three days later, it was a Saturday. On that day, school was only half-day. He also knew Tezuka had no classes that day. When Ryoma tried calling Tezuka, he didn’t answer his cell phone. Ryoma tried for a couple more times till he decided to just leave a voice mail.
‘I wonder why he didn’t answer his cell phone,’ Ryoma thought. If memories served him correctly, after the day at the park, he had never spent more than one hour with his koibito.

After returning home from school and sleep, he decided to go to the second place he liked best; the Street Tennis Court.

“Ryoma, where are you going?” his mother asked.

“Street Tennis Court,” Ryoma answered.

“Make sure to be home before it’s too late,” Rinko told his son before he exited the house.

On the way to the Street Tennis Court, he bumped into Kikumaru and Oishi. “Ochibi,” the red-haired acrobatic player said and began to jump on Ryoma.

“Syuichiro-senpai,” Ryoma said, looking at his ex fukubuchou.

“Eiji,” Oishi said, prying Kikumaru off Ryoma. “You don’t want to run 300 hundreds laps if Tezuka accidentally saw this, would you?”

Immediately, Kikumaru let go of Ryoma and jumped on Oishi instead. “Ochibi, join Syuichiro and I for sushi, nya,” the redhead said. “We’re going to Taka-san’s place.”

“Yeah,” Oishi said. “It’s been awhile since we could hang out together.”

“But I was going to play tennis,” Ryoma told them.

“Please, ochibi,” Kikumaru pleaded. “Oishi’s going to treat us, nya,” he said and a big sweat drop appeared at the back of Oishi’s head.

Ryoma sighed. “Alright,” he said. Besides, he’s not crazy enough to decline free food.

“So, Ryoma,” Oishi asked, “How’s your relationship with Tezuka?”

“Fine,” Ryoma answered after putting an anago sushi in his mouth.

“That’s great,” Oishi replied.

Ryoma looked at his ex-senpai. “Syuichiro-senpai, you went to same university as Kunimitsu-buchou, ne?” Oishi nodded his head. “Then, why are you asking me this question?”

Oishi just laughed sheepishly but didn’t say anything.

“Hey, ochibi,” Kikumaru said, coming to Oishi’s rescue. “What are you going to give Tezuka for Valentine’s Day?”

Ryoma accidentally choke on his sushi, and Oishi, being the mother hen he is, quickly passed a glass of water to Ryoma and began fussing over him.

“Syuichiro-senpai, I’m fine,” Ryoma said, after drinking the water.

“So, ochibi, you haven’t answer my question,” Kikumaru looked at Ryoma. Ryoma just kept his mouth shut.

“You haven’t even bought anything, have you?” Oishi concluded.

‘Damn right, Syuichiro-senpai,’ Ryoma thought. “So?”

“Well, you better by something quick, ochibi,” Kikumaru said. “Valentine’s Day in three days.”

‘You don’t need to remind me, Eiji-senpai,’ Ryoma thought grimly. ‘No wonder the girls at school were all giddy and cheerful.’ Ryoma stood up. “It’s nice to hang out with you again, Syuichiro-senpai, Eiji-senpai,” he bowed in front of his ex-senpai. “Thanks for the food,” he said and began walking out of the store.

“Come again later, okay, Echizen,” Taka said. Ryoma just nodded his head before closing the door.

‘What should I buy for Kunimitsu?’ Ryoma thought. But, after thinking for awhile, nothing came to Ryoma’s mind.

“Echizen-senpai, Echizen-senpai,” a boy called out my name thus snapping me out of my thought.

“Hai,” I said, turning to see who it was. It was Umiyo Akito, a first year from the Art Department, also an ex-Seigaku Regular.

“You were lost in thought,” Akito pointed out.

“Mada mada dane,” I said my famous remark before continued to where I was heading.

“What did I do?” the poor boy thought, standing alone at the hallway.

POTPOTPOTPOTPOTPOT

‘Che, it rained so suddenly,’ I thought as I took shelter at the bus stop.

“Ryoma,” I heard a familiar voice calling my name. I turned and saw… “Syuichiro-senpai,” I said. Even though technically he’s not my senior anymore but I’m used to calling him ‘senpai’.

“What a coincidence,” Oishi said to me.

“What are you doing here, senpai?”

“Sheltering from the rain,” he answered as if that’s obvious.

I gave him a look that said ‘Duh!’ “I know you’re taking shelter, senpai. What I meant is, what are you doing here in Kantou?”

“Why don’t we talk at the coffee shop,” Oishi told me. “It’s more comfortable there, and besides, it’s my treat.”

I sighed. ‘Syuichiro-senpai knew me too well.’

“Well,” I said as I looked at Oishi, waiting for his answer.

“I’m here to visit Eiji,” Oishi replied.

“So, you and Eiji-senpai are still going steady, huh?” I asked.

“Yes,” Oishi answered. “Actually I wanted to propose.”

“Good for you, Syuichiro-senpai,” I told Seigaku’s ex-fukubuchou.

“Ryoma, are you still…”

“Feeling guilty?” I said before Oishi could say anything. “Well, yeah, I’m still feeling guilty.”

“That’s not what I was going to say,” Oishi told me.

“What DO you want to say, Syuichiro-senpai?” I asked.

“Ryoma, it happened five years ago,” Oishi said. “You have to…let go.”

“I can’t,” I said, my voice barely above whisper.

Oishi sighed. “Very well then,” he said. He took something out of his bag and gave it to me. It was a card with my name written on it.

“Eiji gave it to me just now. He told me to give it to you if there’s a chance I bumped into you,” Oishi told me when he saw my confused look. “The Seigaku’s Regulars are going to have a reunion tomorrow.”

“Why didn’t they just mail it to me?” I asked.

“You would just throw it away, right?” Oishi said.

‘Damn right,’ I thought.

“Ryoma, you’ve been running away from everyone since that incident,” Oishi told me. “Everyone misses you so…”

By now, it had stopped raining.

“I don’t know if I’m ready, Syuichiro-senpai,” I said, standing up. “Thanks for the drink,” I told him before bowing and left.

“Ryoma, I hope you could see that nobody is blaming you,” Oishi said to himself.

‘Damn Syuichiro-senpai,’ I thought. ‘Why did I have to bump into him?’

POTPOTPOTPOTPOTPOT

It’s funny how people always find times run quickly when their not paying attention. I sighed as I entered my house.
“Seishounen, is that you?” my baka oyaji asked while he looked at his ‘ecchi’ magazine.

“Tadaima,” I muttered, walking up to my room.

“One of your friends stopped by today,” Nanjiroh said when I was walking up the stairs. I stopped for awhile before resuming my way up. “I think it was the Regular during your freshman year at Seigaku, the one with the split personalities. He said something about reunion.”

“Mada mada dane,” I said.

Nanjiroh smiled. “You’ll open up your heart again soon, seishounen.”

The next day, when I woke up, the birds were chirping and the sun was high in the sky. I looked at the clock at my bedside table. It was 11 a.m. already. ‘Why didn’t okaa-san woke me up?’ I thought. Then, I remembered, “Today’s a holiday; Valentine’s Day.”

I took my bath and changed into my t-shirt and pants. When I went to the kitchen, I saw my mother there but my father was nowhere in sight.

“Where’s oyaji?” I asked, slipping on my seat.

“He’s at the temple already,” Rinko told me as she put my breakfast in front of me. “So, Ryoma, going anywhere special today?” she asked, sitting in front of me.

“Nope,” I answered simply, “just street tennis.”

“Oh, but I thought today was your reunion with the Seigaku Regulars during your freshmen year.”

“How did you know about the reunion?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Ryuzaki-san called, telling us about it,” Rinko told me.

After finishing my scrambled eggs and bacon, I stood up and said, “I’m not going to the reunion.” After that, I went out of the house, saying, “Goodbye.”

“Ryoma…” Rinko said.

When I arrived at the Street Tennis Court, I saw some teens playing. But, one person caught my eyes. When that person saw me, she smiled and waved at my direction.

“Ryoma-san,” she called out. It was Tachibana Ann, sister of Tachibana Kippei.

I decided to walk towards her. “It’s been so long since we last met,” Ann said. “Are you here to play tennis?” she asked.

“Hn,” I answered.

“Well, as an old friend, please do me the honor and have a match with me?” she asked. Before I could answer, she pulled me towards the Singles court.

“I thought you would go on a date since today’s Valentine’s Day,” I said.

“Well, I’m celebrating it tonight, so I don’t have any other plans during the day.” Ann said, “If you don’t mind, let me serve.”

“Sure,” I replied.

After Ann served, she asked, “Are you going tonight?”

“Going where?” I asked, after returning her serve.

“To the reunion,” she answered.

“How’d you know about the reunion?” I asked again.

“Because I’m dating Takeshi,” Ann answered. I was surprised to hear that so Ann managed to score a point.

“You should go out more, Ryoma,” she told me after she served for the second time.

“Whatever,” I replied, before returning the serve and took a point from her.

“You’re getting better,” Ann told me and I replied, “Mada mada dane.”

It was only a short while when I managed to beat her six games to two. Panting, she said, “Let’s talk over there, I’ll buy you a Ponta.” I nodded my head and we went towards the bench near the vending machine.

“Ryoma,” Ann said, handing me a can of Ponta.

“Arigatou,” I told her. She nodded her head and sat next to me.

Then, Ann looked at me, asking, “Can I ask you a personal question?”

“Depends,” I told her.

“Well, Ryoma, have you…have you started dating again?”

At first, I didn’t answer.

“Sorry,” Ann said. “It’s just, Takeshi is worried about you.” I didn’t say anything and just continued drinking my Ponta. “He said you seemed to be locking yourself away from everyone.”

“Why is it suddenly my life became everyone’s business?” I asked, feeling a little angry.

Ann was taken aback. “I’m sorry if I anger you,” she said, “but everyone is worried, Ryoma.”

I stood up and threw the empty can inside the garbage bin. “I’m going,” I said, taking my tennis bag.

“I hope you’ll come to the reunion tonight,” Ann yelled out to me. I didn’t stop to reply though, I just kept on walking.

While I was walking, another memory came into my mind.

Seventeen year-old Ryoma walked down the streets of Kantou, while thinking of a perfect gift to buy. Suddenly, he said, “I know what Kunimitsu might like.” Then, when he passed a café, he saw Tezuka and Fuji in it, sitting together while eating ice creams. Ryoma stopped directly in front of where Tezuka and Fuji are sitting. Of course, the two older teens hadn’t notice him.

‘What is Kunimitsu doing with Fuji-senpai?” Ryoma thought. He saw Tezuka and Fuji talking, and suddenly Fuji laughed.

‘Are they on a date?’ Ryoma thought. He shook his head. ‘No, Kunimitsu would never cheat on me.’ So, Ryoma decided to call Tezuka.

“Hello, this is Tezuka Kunimitsu speaking,” Tezuka said as he answered the phone.

“Kunimitsu, this is me, Ryoma,” the younger teen said from the other line.

Tezuka was about to say Ryoma’s name when Fuji’s voice was heard, saying, “Mitsu-chan, who is it?”

Before Tezuka could answer Fuji, Ryoma said, “Uhm, I guess you’re busy.”

Sensing something was off in Ryoma’s voice, Tezuka asked, “Ryoma, what’s wrong?”

“I was in town and I just-” Tezuka looked up and saw Ryoma there, separated only by a thin glass.

“Ryoma it’s not what you think,” Tezuka said.

“I’ll call you later, Kunimitsu,” Ryoma said and hung up. Before he ran, Tezuka swore he saw tears on his lover’s cheeks.

“Was that Ryoma?” Fuji asked. Fuji didn’t need an answer. “Go, go after him.” He smiled. “It’s hard if the neko-chan misunderstood things.”

POTPOTPOTPOTPOTPOT

When he arrived home, both his parents are in the living room. “Oh, welcome home, Ryoma,” Rinko told her son. However, when she saw Ryoma’s tear-stained face, she asked, “Ryoma, what happened?”
“Nothing,” Ryoma said and he quickly ran up to his room.

“I wonder what the matter with that seishounen,” Nanjiroh said.

A few minutes later, the doorbell to the Echizen household rang. Rinko opened the door.

“Konbanwa,” Tezuka said. “Is Ryoma home?” he asked.

“Yup, he’s in, but he don’t really want to talk to anyone right now,” Rinko said.

“Please, could I try and see him?” Tezuka asked.

Rinko saw the worried look on Tezuka’s face. She asked, “Say, Tezuka-san, did you and Ryoma got into a fight?”

“No, but…”

“But…?” Rinko repeated with a raised eyebrow.

“I think he saw something he shouldn’t have,” Tezuka told her.

“And I concluded that that’s the cause of all of this?” Rinko asked.

“Echizen-san,” Tezuka said. “I’m not cheating on Ryoma. I can jump in front of a speeding car to prove it.”

Rinko chuckled. “You don’t need to prove to me anything, Tezuka-san.” She opened the door wider so that Tezuka could enter. “You should remember where his room is, right?”

Tezuka nodded his head. “Thank you, Echizen-san,” he said.

The brunette-haired teen knocked on Ryoma’s door. He knocked three times, and stopped.

Silence, there was no answer.

Again, Tezuka knocked, but still no answer. After a few more tries, Tezuka stopped. He knew how stubborn Ryoma was. He knew even if he kept knocking, Ryoma won’t answer. At last, Tezuka sighed and said, “Ryoma, I know you’re in there and I know you’re listening. So, please, on this Valentine’s Day, meet me at Kawamura’s Sushi shop at eight p.m. There I’ll give you my explanation about Fuji. I hope two days is enough to make you calm. And, I won’t bother you within these two days. If…If you want to talk to me, I’ll be happy to see you, no matter if it’s in the middle of the night.”

Again, there was only silence. Tezuka sighed. After looking at Ryoma’s bedroom door, he left.

“So, did you talk to Ryoma?” Rinko asked when Tezuka arrived downstairs.

Tezuka shook his head. “But please, Rinko-san, remind him to meet me at Kawamura Sushi shop at eight p.m. on Valentine’s Day.”

Rinko smiled. “Sure.”

POTPOTPOTPOT

‘I was so stupid, weren’t I?’ I thought as I walked towards a grave; a grave belonged to Tezuka Kunimitsu.
Tezuka’s grave was under a cherry blossom tree, the place where he could feel peace. I sat beside Tezuka’s grave, leaning against the sakura tree.

After Ryoma heard Tezuka’s footsteps going away, he removed the pillow on his head. Staring at the ceiling, he thought, ‘Why should I go? I saw them with my own eyes.’

Suddenly, another thought came into his mind. ‘But, what if I’m wrong? What if that was just a friendly meeting? But, then again, Fuji-senpai called Kunimitsu ‘Mitsu-chan’.’

Tezuka did keep to his words. Within those two days, he never once called Ryoma and didn’t come to see him either. Ryoma, on the other hand, was stubborn enough not to call Tezuka.

On Valentine’s Day, Ryoma returned home at six p.m. after tennis practice. When he was about to go to his room, his mother asked, “Are you going tonight, Ryoma?”

“If he really wanted to see me, he should have explain things to me now instead of later,” Ryoma answered before continue walking to his room.

“Ryoma, I hope you’re not making a mistake,” his mother said before heading to the kitchen.

After taking his bath, Ryoma lay on his bed, Karupin next to him. He said to himself, “Am I making the right choice for not going to Taka-san’s sushi shop tonight?” After debating with himself whether he should go to Kawamura’s sushi shop or not tonight, he drifted to sleep.

Ryoma didn’t know what time it is when he woke up from his slumber because his cell phone was ringing. He looked at his clock. It’s just 8.30 p.m.

Ryoma answered it, “Hello,” he said.

“Ryoma, this is Kawamura,” Kawamura Takashi said from the other line.

“Taka-senpai,” Ryoma said as he sat in a more comfortable way.

“Ryoma, there’s been an accident near my shop,” Kawamura said, “It was a hit and run.”

“Why are you telling me this?” Ryoma asked. ‘Don’t tell me…’

“It was Tezuka,” Kawamura answered Ryoma unanswered question. He winced slightly, knowing how Ryoma’s reaction might be.

“Your eyes must be too tried, Taka-senpai,” Ryoma said as he forcefully laughed. “Kunimitsu can’t-”

“On his way to my shop tonight, Tezuka was hit by a speeding truck,” Kawamura told him. “The truck driver was drunk Tezuka died immediately at the scene.”

“No, it can’t be,” Ryoma shrieked. He was in denial. “It can’t-” he accidentally dropped his cell phone.

“Ryoma, Ryoma,” Kawamura called out before the line went dead.

‘How can it be?’ Ryoma thought, staring at nothing, only the emptiness in front of him. ‘It was just a while ago when we played tennis together, laughed together, sleep-” he buried his face in his hands and dropped to the ground.

“I should have gone to the sushi shop tonight,” Ryoma cried. “Then maybe, all of this won’t have happened.”

‘Ryoma, it was just a misunderstanding,’ Tezuka’s voice went through his mind.

“I’m sorry, Mitsu,” Ryoma cried, “sorry for not believing.”

At that moment, the door was opened by his mother. “Ryoma, what’s wrong?” she asked, quickly running to Ryoma’s side when he saw him in that position.

Ryoma don’t care anymore. He sobbed. Looking at his mother with tears running down his cheeks, he said, “Okaa-san, I was an idiot. I should have listened to him, listen to his explanations when I still had the chance.”

“Ryoma,” Rinko said soothingly to her son. “Tell me what happened.”

“T-Tezuka,” he choked out. “He was…Taka-senpai told me…he-”

“Shh, it’s okay,” Rinko said. Rinko didn’t know what had happen to Tezuka but all she knew was making her son calm.

I chuckled to myself. “It’s too late to regret about that now, isn’t it, Kunimitsu?” I looked up. Though my vision is limited to the wide, blue sky, but my thoughts are beyond that.

“I wonder what would happen if I just commit suicide after your funeral,” I told no one in particular. “Maybe we could’ve been together?” Then, I chuckled again. “You know what, Mitsu? I almost did commit suicide, but a voice told me…”

It was the day of Tezuka’s funeral. A lot of people attended it. There were old schoolmates and new, Ryuzaki-sensei, friends and family, the Seigaku Regulars, and even the past opponents; some of the Hyoutei’s, Rikkaidai’s, Rokkaku’s, Fudomine’s and even St. Rudolph’s Regulars.

It was gloomy and depressing at Tezuka’s funeral. Everyone knew that the young man could go much, much further…if only the Angel of Death hadn’t taken him.

After the funeral, Ryoma was about to walk away when Fuji caught up to him, saying, “Stop right there, Ryoma.” When Ryoma didn’t stop, he grabbed hold of Ryoma’s hand.

Ryoma showed no sign of resistance. When the honey-brunette-haired teen turned Ryoma facing him, he was surprised that his eyes opened. When he arrived to the funeral with his sister and brother, he saw Ryoma from far away. But, the younger teen was standing to far away. Now, when he was standing right in front of the teen, how surprised he was to see the boy. He looked like a living corpse, with dark circles under his eyes, his pale face and messy hair. It seems like the fire in him was extinguished.

“Ryoma, what happened to you? Why didn’t you take of yourself?” Fuji asked, starting to bombard Ryoma with his questions.

When Ryoma didn’t answer, Fuji said, “Is this because of what happened at the café?”

Ryoma looked at Fuji, but didn’t say anything.

“Ryoma…”

“I should have trust him, Fuji-senpai,” Ryoma said, tears began to cloud his vision again. “I should have trust him.” Ryoma dropped to the ground as his knees weakened.

“It’s not your fault,” Fuji said, trying to comfort the younger teen as he hold kneeled in front of Ryoma till they’re at the same level. “Everyone would think the worse if they saw a scene like that…that just shows how much you love him.”

“That was not love but just pure stubbornness, Fuji-senpai,” Ryoma replied. “I refused to talk to him or see him, and…and now it’s too late.”

“Ryoma,” Fuji said. He took out a small velvet box with golden ribbon on it. “The reason why Kunimitsu asked me out the other day was because he needed my help to find something for you.” Fuji put the box on Ryoma’s palm. “He wanted everything to be perfect and a surprise so he didn’t say anything to you.”

Ryoma opened it and was startled to see a ring in it.

“He was planning to propose to you on Valentine’s Day…but-”

“I was so stupid,” Ryoma cut in. He immediately stood up. With the box safely in his hands, the younger teen ran off.

“Ryoma!” Fuji called after him.

That night, Ryoma sat on the rooftop of his house. He brought something with him as well; the ring Tezuka bought and a knife.

‘I don’t care anymore, Kunimitsu,’ Ryoma thought. ‘I want to join you, so that we could be…together.’

He took the knife and was about to slit his wrist when he felt a warm breeze and something embracing him. The warmth of it was so much familiar to him. “Kunimitsu,” Ryoma said softly to himself.

Then, Ryoma heard a voice, a voice so familiar in the wind, saying, “Ryoma, it’s time to let me go.”

Hearing those words, Ryoma sat still, the knife slowly slipping from his hand. Then, he started crying, crying all the sadness he had kept inside.

I smiled, looking at the Kunimitsu’s grave. “I understand now,” I said. “And I’m ready…to let you go.”

Summary: Set a year after Destiny. Kira notice that Atrhun and Cagalli is too afraid to do anything to mend their 'love' so he decided to mendle in. What is it that Kira's planning? How will he get Athrun and Cagalli back together? Pairings: AthrunxCagalli, LacusxKira [one shot]

It is a bright, sunny day. The sun shines went into the pink room by the sea through the open window. The once sleeping girl is now awake.

Lacus sit from her sleeping position and stretched her hands. On the floor, the Lacus’ pink electronic ball jumped up and down. “Lacus, Lacus, ohayo. Ohayo,” the pink little electronic ball said.

Lacus said “Ohayo, pink-chan.” Lacus opened her hands and Lacus’ favorite pink haro jumped in her hands. Lacus said to her pink haro, “Pink-chan, it has been so long since the war, ne?”

“Hai, hai, hai.” The pink haro said.

Lacus giggled. “Stay here, Pink, I’m going to take my bath before Cagalli wakes up, okay?”

The pink haro jumped up and down. “Hai, hai, hai, Lacus-san.”

It has been a year since the second war between Plant and the Earth Alliance. Athrun and Kira are in Plant, helping out with the reconstructions. Meanwhile, Cagalli and Lacus are in Orb. Since she’s the Representative of Orb, she have to stay at the Attha’s mansion but sometimes she will stay at Lacus and Kira’s house by the ocean; not far from Caridad’s, Kira’s mother’s house. Cagalli have to take care of things because she is the Representative of Orb after all. Lacus, on the other hand, is in Orb to keep an eye on Cagalli even though she doesn’t have to. Lacus knows that Cagalli’s a big girl after all but Kira just won’t listen. And, don’t forget, Athrun.

In Cagalli’s room, she is still soundlessly asleep. I mean, who wouldn’t. It is a hard job to take care of a nation when you are just a 19 years old girl. But, Cagalli Yula Attha wouldn’t give up. No matter how hard it is, she will always try to do the best for her country.

Cagalli stirred in her sleep. She muttered, “Athrun.” Cagalli had a dream.

It was a cold night. Cagalli and Athrun are at the beach in Orb. They are walking on the beach with their bear foot, feeling the warm sand under their feet.

While they were walking, suddenly, Athrun stopped in his tracks. Realizing that Athrun has stopped walking, Cagalli too, stopped.

Cagalli asked, “Athrun, what’s wrong?”

Athrun looked at Cagalli in her eyes and said, “I’m sorry Cagalli, but this will be the end.” Athrun took the ring he gave her from Cagalli’s finger and ran off.

“No!” Cagalli yelled.
Cagalli immediately woke up from her slumber with sweats on her face. She sat down on her bed with her knees near her chest. “It’s just a dream, Cagalli, it’s just a dream.” She muttered to herself. “But, it looks so real.”

She shook her head. She looked at her clock and it read, 8:30 a.m. “Lacus must be up already.” She said to herself. “I’ll just get myself ready and head of to the mansion.”

Cagalli get off her bed and went to the bathroom for a shower. She let the cold water flow down her head, bringing down with them all the sad memories but she just couldn’t erase the dream she just had.

In Plant, Kira and Athrun are living in the same apartment. They were helping out with the reconstruction of Plant after the war ended. It has been 6 months since they left Orb, Lacus and Cagalli. Kira just finished his shower and Athrun just finished making breakfast.

“You know, Athrun, you can’t keep making breakfast for us everyday.” Kira said as he walked out of his room with a towel over his wet hair.

Athrun, who just put the scramble eggs on the table, said, “Well, I can’t let you cook now, can I?” Athrun smiled at his friend. He teased, “How would I explain it to the people when our apartment was on fire?”

Kira blushed. He took the towel he used to dry his hair and threw it at Athrun. “Hey, that not fair.”

Athrun chuckled.

Kira smiled at his friend. Since the second war ended, Athrun rarely smiles. Sure, he did laugh and smiles at his jokes sometimes but it is not Athrun’s fullest laugh. He could still feel the Athrun’s depression whenever he talked to Athrun.

“So, Athrun, what are you going to do now?” Kira asked.

“I was thinking that after breakfast, we could go to the reconstruction site and finish our work. Then, we can have lunch and dinner out.” Athrun answered.

Kira said, “That’s not what I meant, Athrun.”

“Than, what do you mean?” Athrun asked. Athrun knows perfectly well what Kira meant but he was surprised that Kira asked him that question. He wasn’t expecting it for at least later. Well, sure Kira will ask the question sooner. It does concern his sister.

“What I meant is…” Kira was about to say something more but he was interrupted by the doorbell.

“I’ll go and see who it is.” Athrun said.

Kira nodded and Athrun walked to the door and open it. When he opened the door, he saw Shin, Daerka and Lunamaria.

“Hi guyz, not to be rude,” Athrun said, “but what are you doing here this early in the morning?”

Shin, Lunamaria and Daerka lives in the same apartment building with Athrun and Kira. Lunamaria and her sister, Meyrin live on the top floor and Shin and Daerka, who shares an apartment, live on the second floor. Athrun and Kira live on the third floor.

“Well, Athrun, technically, it is not early anymore because it is 9:15 a.m. already.” Lunamaria stated.

Athrun sighed, “Alright, come in.” Athrun opened the door wider so that his friends can come in.

They walked to the dining room when Kira was just drinking his coffee.

“Hi, Kira.” Shin, Lunamaria and Daerka greeted.

Kira put down his mug and replied, “Hi, Daerka, Shin and Lunamaria.” Shin, Lunamaria and Daerka sit on the empty chair beside Kira.

Athrun sat back at his seat and asked, “So, what are you doing here?”

Lunamaria, Shin and Daerka just gave him a fishy look. Athrun sighed, once again.

It is now 9:30 a.m. and Cagalli just finished her shower. Cagalli’s going to have a meeting with the parliaments today so she wore her uniform. She quickly went downstairs. Just when she was about to open the front door, a voice said,

“Hold it right there, Miss. You’re not leaving without eating your breakfast.”

Cagalli turned around and saw Lacus standing by the doorway that leads to the dining room, wearing an apron and her hands on her hips.

Lacus said, “Come on, Cagalli, I’ve made breakfast.”

“But…But, I’m going to be late for the meeting with the parliaments.” Cagalli said.

Lacus shook her head, “I know you care for your country but you have to eat, Cagalli.” Lacus is now standing beside Cagalli. “How can you care for a country if you don’t take care for yourself, Cagalli?”

“Lacus…” Cagalli don’t know what to say.

Lacus smiled, “And beside, I’ve promised Kira I will take care of you.” Lacus added in her heart, ‘And not to mention, Athrun.’

Cagalli smiled and nodded her head, “Alright, Lacus, we’ll do it your way.”

Lacus and Cagalli giggled and both of them walked to the dining room for breakfast.

“Lacus, this pancake is delicious.” Cagalli exclaimed.

The pink haro copied what Cagalli said while jumping up and down, “Lacus, this pancake is delicious. Lacus, this pancake is delicious.”

Lacus giggled. “Thank you, Cagalli.” She thought for a while and said, “Want me to teach you how to make it?”

Cagalli nodded her head while stuffing in as many pancake as she could.

Lacus laughed at the sight. Then, she looked at the grandfather clock at the corner and said to Cagalli, “Oh my god, Cagalli, I totally forgot about the time. You’re going to be late if you don’t make a move now.”

Cagalli looked at the grandfather clock. Realizing that she only got 30 minutes to get everything ready, she quickly stood up and ran to the door. Before she left the house, she told Lacus, “I might stay at work tonight so don’t worry about me, okay Lacus.”

Lacus, who was standing by the front door, watched Cagalli ran to the car. She smiled and said to herself softly, “How can I not be worried about you, Cagalli?”

Then, the pink haro said from behind Lacus. “Lacus, Lacus, pudding, pudding.”

Lacus closed the door and turned towards the pink haro. “Yeah, I promised to visit the children and make chocolate pudding for them today, didn’t I?” She said, smiling.

“Come on than, Pink-chan.” Lacus said, going to the kitchen. The pink haro followed behind Lacus, jumping all the way.

At Plant, Shin, Kira and Daerka are working at the reconstruction site while Athrun and Lunamaria are working at the technology part.

At the reconstruction site, Kira and Shin just finished helping out so they decided to have a little drink at a small café just around the corner.

“So, how’s Lacus doing, Kira?” Shin asked.

“She’s doing fine. I just spoke to her last night.”

Shin looked down at his coffee cup, “That’s great. How about Cagalli?”

Kira smiled. He knew Shin still feels bad about what happened during the war. “She’s fine.”

“Hmm, that’s good to hear.” Shin said.

“You know, Shin, you don’t have to feel bad about what happened during the war.” Kira said.

“But I do.” Shin said. “I don’t understand, Kira. I know what Cagalli said was true but I don’t want to believe her.”

“You lost your family when you were in Orb. She understands that.” Kira said.

“Yeah.” Shin answered, looking at Kira. “Hey, do you think her relationship with Athrun’s going to be okay?”

Taking a sip of his coffee, Kira answered, “That, I seriously don’t know but I hope my sister and Athrun can sort things out soon.”

“I know.” Shin said. “I don’t want to admit it back than but I can see that they are a good couple. It’s just that everything that has happened brought them apart.” Shin took a sip of his coffee.

After hearing what Shin said, Kira had an idea, a very evil idea. “Shin, do you want to help me?” Kira asked with a glint of mischief in his eyes.

“U-Uh, w-what is it?” Shin asked, stuttering. He knew it’s bad when Kira has a mischief glint in his eyes. And how he knew it, let’s just say he learned it the hard way.

“Hey, Athrun, are you alright?” Lunamaria asked.

“Yeah, I’m alright. Why do you ask, Luna?” Athrun asked.

Athrun and Lunamaria have finished fixing the solar system at the Council’s Building in Plant. Now, they are at an ice cream parlor eating ice cream.

“No reasons.” Luna replied. “It’s just, you’re not yourself lately.”

“There’re a lot of things in my mind, Luna.” Athrun said.

Luna licked her ice cream. “Athrun, do you miss Cagalli?” Luna asked softly.

Athrun looked at his ice cream. He was silence for one minute before answering, “Yes, Luna, I really miss Cagalli.”

“Then, why didn’t you call her?” Luna asked. “I mean, there’s no one that’s going to stop you.”

Athrun didn’t say anything. Luna sighed, “Come on, Athrun. Plant and Orb are now allies. Besides, Shin won’t stop you either. He understood everything now.”

“I know, Luna.” Athrun said, finally. “It’s just; I don’t know whether Cagalli will listen to me.”

“Have you called her for this past 6 months?” Luna asked.

Athrun shook her head. “Only twice, the day Kira and I arrived to Plant and a month after that. After that, we lost contact, I guess. Kira’s the one who told me how she’s doing.”

“Athrun, you don’t expect Cagalli to make the first move, do you?” Luna asked.

Athrun said nothing. Lunamaria sighed. “Athrun, I think we have to have a ‘talk’ about girls.”

Athrun sighed. ‘What did I do to deserve this?’

It is now afternoon. Lacus is at Caridad’s house, visiting the children. Lacus, Caridad, and the children are at the beach. The children are making sand-castle while Caridad and Lacus are under the coconut tree, sitting there.

“So, Lacus how’s Kira?”

“He’s fine, Mrs. Caridad. We just talked last night.” Lacus said.

“Oh, that’s good to hear.” Caridad said. “Last night, Cagalli stayed at your house, right?”

“Yeah, she did sleep at my house last night.” Lacus said.

“How is she?” Caridad asked. “Although she’s not my child but I think of her as my own. Besides, she’s Kira’s twin sister.”

Lacus smiled. “Cagalli’s fine, Misses Caridad. But even though she doesn’t say anything but I know she misses Athrun.”

Caridad sighed. “I wonder what’s going to happen to them, Lacus.”

“Fate’s going to decide that one, Misses Caridad.” Lacus said.

Caridad smiled, “Kira’s lucky to have someone like you to take care of him.”

Lacus blushed, “It’s nothing, Misses Caridad.”

Caridad giggled. “I just hope Cagalli and Athrun can get together soon.”

Lacus giggled too, “Yeah, me too. And also, I know Kira is working on a plan to get them together.”

Caridad said, “Yeah, that’s so typical Kira.”

Both Lacus and Caridad laughed.

At Orb, in the Council’s Building, Cagalli is in her office. There’re many documents on the table for her to sign and there’s so little time get it all done. Cagalli put her right hand on her head and her left hand holds the documents. Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door.

“Come in,” Cagalli said. She put down the documents. The door to her office opened and revealed a woman with brunette hair.

“Sorry to disturb you Miss Attha but you’ve got a phone call from Miss Clyne.” The brunette haired woman is Cagalli’s secretary.

“Alright, Anna, which line is Lacus’ on?” Cagalli asked.

“Miss Clyne is on line 2, Miss Attha.” Anna answered.

“Thank you, Anna, sent her through.” Cagalli said.

Anna nodded and closed the door. Cagalli picked up the phone.

“Hello Cagalli, its Lacus. Sorry to disturb at this time of day.” Lacus said from the other line.

“It’s okay,” Cagalli said. “What can I do to help you, Lacus?”

“I know this is not the appropriate time but I was wondering if you’d like to go out for lunch with me tomorrow.”

Cagalli sighed, “But Lacus, I have tons of work here. I’m sorry but I can’t go.” Cagalli said.

“Please, Cagalli. Just this once, you relax and enjoy your day.” Lacus said. “You’re not a robot, Cagalli. You need to have your rest too.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll be there tomorrow.” Cagalli said, finally giving up. “I’ll try to forward the meeting with the parliaments and I’ll meet you at your house, okay?”

“Okay, that’s great.” Lacus said. “I’ll be waiting for you, Cagalli.”

Cagalli put he phone down and sighed. “I can feel that they’re planning something.” Cagalli muttered to herself.

Kira, Shin, Daerka, Athrun and Lunamaria have finally finished their work. All of them are going home to their own apartment. Kira and Athrun just invited Daerka, Shin, Lunamaria and also Meyrin for dinner.

After Kira and Athrun finished showering, separately of course, the doorbell rang. Kira answered the door. He opened it and it revealed Daerka and Shin, bringing a box of sodas each and Lunamaria bringing a bowl of chips and Meyrin bringing a plate of chocolate cake.

“Come in,” Kira said.

All of them came in. Kira led them to the dining room and they put sodas, chips and chocolate cake on the table.

“So, where’s Athrun?” Daerka asked.

At that moment, Athrun emerged from the kitchen wearing an apron.

“Hi guyz, why don’t you sit down first?” Athrun said. “Dinner will be ready in a few minutes time.”

Daerka and laughed at Athrun.

“Man, do you realize you’re wearing an apron?” Daerka asked.

Athrun blushed. “Well, rather than getting my clothes dirty, it’s good to wear an apron.”

“But, you look so funny?” Daerka said, trying to control his laughter but failed.

“Well, I can’t let Kira cook dinner.” Athrun said. “I’ve promised Lacus not to let him in the kitchen after what happened during Christmas.”

Now it is Kira’s turn to blush. Lunamaria, who can’t stand it anymore, said, “Oh, stop making fun of your friends, guyz. Daerka, you can’t cook, don’t make fun of Athrun. Athrun, Kira can’t cook so don’t make fun of him and,” Lunamaria saw smoke coming from the kitchen. “And Athrun, I thing your roasted chicken is being over-roasted.”

“What?” Athrun looked at the kitchen. “Oh man!” He quickly ran to the kitchen. Unfortunately for him, the chicken is too badly burned it can’t be saved. Athrun went back to the kitchen and asked his friends, “So, who wants pizza?” Athrun said as a sweat drop appeared on Athrun’s head and he scratched the back of his head.

Daerka, Lunamaria, Meyrin, Shin and Kira fell anime style with a sweat drop each on their heads.

It is late at night. Athrun woke up ‘accidentally’ woke up. He shook his head when he saw the mess. Somehow, the dinner went out of hand. Daerka and Shin are sleeping on the floor, pizza boxes and soda cans all around them. Kira, Luna and Meyrin, on the other hand, are a hell lot cleaner. Kira is sleeping on the arm chair and Luna and her sister are sleeping on the long couch.

Athrun collected all the pizza boxes and soda cans. Athrun picked up too many soda cans and pizza boxes that he could hold. He was about to dropped what he’s holding when suddenly a voice said;

“Here, let me help you with that.” Athrun immediately recognize that the voice belongs to Kira. Kira helped Athrun with the pizza boxes.

“Thanks, Kira,” Athrun said. They went outside their apartment building to throw away the garbage. After that, they decided to seat at the garden that was located just behind the building, since it was really cool that night. They sat on a bench in front of a fountain.

They sat in silence. That was until Athrun broke the silence. “So, how’s Lacus doing?” Athrun looked at the moon.

“She’s fine.” Kira answered. He too, looked at the moon. Kira said, “Is there anything else you want to ask, Athrun?”

“What do you mean?” Athrun asked, looking at Kira.

“I know you wanted to ask about Cagalli, right?” Kira said. He turned facing Athrun.

“N-No, I’ve already know how she’s doing. I just called her a few days ago.” Athrun lied.
Kira chuckled, “You still don’t know how to lie.” Athrun blushed. Kira added in, “I know you wanted to call her but every time you pick up the phone, all your courage just disappeared.”

“Yeah,” Athrun said. He looked at the sky.

“Athrun, do you want to return to Orb?” Kira asked.

Athrun didn’t say anything.

“Our job here is done. The other Zaft’s crews can fix the minor things. Why don’t we return home?” Kira said.

Athrun just nodded.

“Great,” Kira said happily. Athrun looked at Kira again.

“Is there something you didn’t tell me, Kira?” Athrun said, suspecting something.

“Hehe, you see, since Shin and I finished our work at the reconstruction site early, so we went and booked a ticket for Shin, Daerka, Meyrin, Luna, you and I to Orb tomorrow evening.” Kira said as he laughed nervously. He had a sweat drop on his head.

Athrun sighed, “You and your crazy plans, Kira.” He shook his head. “Do the others know?”

“Yup, I’ve told Daerka and I asked Shin to call and ask Luna. And Meyrin will follow wherever Luna goes, right?” Kira said.

FLASHBACK

“Hey, Luna, can you hand me the screwdriver box?” Athrun asked.

“Sure,” Lunamaria answered. She took the screwdriver box and walked towards Athrun. You see, Lunamaria is at the other side of the big room. On her way, her cell rang. Luna answered it, “Hello, Lunamaria speaking.”

Athrun looked at Lunamaria and saw her talking on her cell. She heard Lunamaria said things such as, “Honto ni?” and “I’m not so sure” and also “Alright, I won’t tell a thing.”

END OF FLASHBACK

‘So now I know what Luna talked about.’ Athrun thought.

“What do you say, Athrun?” Kira asked. At first, Athrun didn’t say anything. Kira thought, ‘With Athrun, the easiest way to persuade him is…’ Kira gave Athrun his puppy dog eyes.

“Kira…” Athrun warned. He knew what Kira’s trying to do. So, Kira added in a little charm. He looked at Athrun with his puppy dog eyes and pouted. Athrun gave in, “Argh, alright. You win, Kira. I’ll return to Orb.”

“Alright,” Kira said, standing up. His job there is done. “I’m going back to our apartment.”

Athrun watched his best friend disappeared inside the apartment building. He sighed, “You’ll do anything to get me there, right, Kira?” He said softly. Although his resistant to go to Orb, but inside his heart, he was happy.

“Lacus, I’m home.” Cagalli said. “Where are you?”

It was around 1 in the evening. Cagalli, just as she promised, put forward the meeting with the parliaments so that she can leave early. So, now she’s at Lacus’ house.

“I’m in my room.” Lacus said. Her voice was not clear for she was in her own room.

Cagalli went upstairs to Lacus’ room. Lacus just finished her shower so Cagalli sat on Lacus’ bed.

“I see you’re home early.” Lacus told Cagalli, smiling.

“Yeah,” Cagalli said. “Thank you.”

“Why?” Lacus asked, putting on her light pink spaghetti top and cherry blossom pink mini skirt.

“Well, if you hadn’t call I would still be at my office.” Cagalli said.

“Cagalli, I know that the war make us mature but like it or not, you’re still 19.” Lacus said. “You can’t just keep working like that.”

“Yes, I understand, Lacus.” Cagalli said sincerely. “Thank you.”

Lacus smiled. “You’re welcome. Now, why don’t you take your bath first?” Lacus said.

“Hai, hai.” Cagalli answered.

Cagalli took her bath. After that, she went to her room and put on a simple orange top and a blue jean. She went to the living room where Lacus and her pink haro are waiting for her.

“Alright, let’s go.” Lacus said, standing up and put her hand bag on her shoulder. Her pink haro is jumping up and down.

After about 30 minutes drive, Cagalli and Lacus finally arrived at the mall. They went to a restaurant on the first floor of the mall.

“I’ll have the alfredo spaghetti, please.” Lacus said to the waitress. The waitress wrote down Lacus’ order.

“Make that two alfredo spaghetti.” Cagalli said.

The waitress asked, “What drinks do you want, Miss Attha? Miss Clyne?”

“I’ll just have a honeydew juice, please.” Lacus said and Cagalli said, “I’ll have ice mocha.”

The waitress nodded her head and went to the counter.

While waiting for they’re food to come, Lacus and Cagalli talked.

“Cagalli, do you miss him?” Lacus ask.

“Miss whom?” Cagalli said although she knew perfectly what Lacus meant.

“Do you miss Athrun?” Lacus said.

“Not really.” Cagalli lied. Actually, she misses Athrun a lot.

“Don’t lie to me, Cagalli. I know you missed Athrun and you missed him even more when you lost contact with him.” Lacus said.

Cagalli said, “I don’t know if he misses me or not. He didn’t call so why should I?”

Lacus smiled, “Cagalli, you know that if it comes to this subject, Athrun won’t make the first move. I think he thought that you’re mad at him so when you didn’t call, he’s afraid to pick up his phone and call you. He’s scared that you wouldn’t answer his call.”

“So, what do you propose I should do?” Cagalli said.

At that moment, their food and drinks came. Lacus said to Cagalli, “Hold that thought, Cagalli. Why don’t we eat first?”

“Sure,” Cagalli said. “I’m hungry anyway.”

After they finished their food and drinks, they decided to pay their bill.

Cagalli took out her wallet but Lacus stopped her, “Its okay, Cagalli. I’ll pay for it.”

Cagalli knew it’s a waste of time to argue with Lacus when she’s certain so she sighed, “Okay, Lacus.”

Lacus smiled at Cagalli and then, paid for the bill.

“Now, where are we going?” Cagalli asked.

“Shopping,” Lacus said, dragging Cagalli to a clothes store.

Sweat dropped appeared on Cagalli’s forehead, “What the…? Lacus, no…” Cagalli said.

“Don’t worry, it’ll be fun.” Lacus said. They entered the store.

Lacus chose a few clothes for Cagalli to try on.

Cagalli shook her head, “No, no and no. I’m not going to wear dresses.”

“Please, Cagalli.” Lacus pleaded.

“No!” Cagalli said, her voice clearly stated that she doesn’t want to wear it.

“Please…” Lacus said, giving Cagalli her puppy do eyes.

At first, Cagalli tried to close her eyes but she just couldn’t resist. Finally, Cagalli said, “Alright, alright, I’ll try the stupid dress on.”

Lacus giggled as Cagalli grumpily took the dresses she chose for her. Cagalli went into the changing room.

While waiting for Cagalli, Lacus sat on the bench just outside the changing room. She had a flashback of her conversation with Kira on the phone last night.

FLASHBACK

“Hello, Lacus speaking.” Lacus said as she answered the phone.

“Hello Lacus. It’s me, Kira.” Kira said at the other end of the line.

“So, what is it, Kira?” Lacus asked.

“I want to ask you a favor.” Kira said.

“I’ll see what I can do, Kira.” Lacus said. “So, what do you want me to do?”

“I want you to help me to bring Athrun and Cagalli back together.” Kira said. Lacus listened carefully as Kira told her his plan.

“Kira, what if she doesn’t agree?” Lacus asked after Kira finished explaining to her.

“Cagalli can’t stand puppy dog eyes and pouts, Lacus,” Kira said. “She’ll give in for sure.”

“How can you be certain?” Lacus asked.

Because it works all the time,” Kira said, smiling mischievously on the other line.

Lacus smiled at the other line, “Alright, I’ll do my best to persuade her.

“Thank you, Lacus.” Kira said. He blushed, “Aishiteru, Lacus.”

Lacus too, blushed, “I love you too.” She said.

Lacus heard Kira let down his phone so she let hers down as well. She smiled, “This is going to be a challenge,” Lacus said. “Right, Pink-chan,” she said to her pink haro.

END OF FLASHBACK

Lacus snapped out of her thought when she heard the door to the changing room opened. She looked up and saw Cagalli wearing a top and skirt she chose. The top is an off-the-shoulder blouse. It is green colored. The skirt, on the other hand, is a light green colored mini skirt which is just 7 inches above her knees. The skirt is embroidered with diamonds.

The saleswoman looked worried because Cagalli kept pulling the skirt down so that it won’t show her knees. The saleswoman asked, “Do you want to take this, miss?”

Lacus, who was giggling at Cagalli’s act stood up and said, “She’ll take it,” before Cagalli could even protest.

Cagalli went into the changing room, took of the blouse and skirt and gave it to the saleswoman. Then, she tried on another dress that Lacus chose for her. After a few minutes, she went out of the changing room.

Cagalli was wearing a mint green colored string dress that becomes fluffy at the bottom. The dress reached Cagalli’s knees.
“Cagalli, that’s beautiful.” Lacus said.

Cagalli blushed at Lacus’ compliment. She didn’t do anything while wearing this dress, just stood still.

“Do you want this dress as well, miss?” The saleswoman asked.

Cagalli just stood there, blushing brighter. Lacus smiled and said to the saleswoman, “She’ll take it.”

Cagalli went into the changing room, took off the dress and gave it to the saleswoman. Then, Cagalli tried on the last clothes Lacus picked out. This one actually went on well with Cagalli’s liking. It was a white colored string top an on top of it is an orange colored see-through buttoned blouse with long sleeves that becomes fluffy at the bottom. She was wearing a yellow colored fluffy skirt that reached her knees.

“What do you think of that one, Cagalli?” Lacus asked.

“It’s okay.” Cagalli said softly.

Lacus nodded and told the saleswoman, “We’ll take all of that.” The saleswoman nodded and purchased it. Lacus took out her purse to pay for the clothes, but Cagalli stopped her.

“No, Lacus, you’ve been to kind today.” Cagalli said. “Let me pay for my clothes, at least.”

“Alright, Cagalli,” Lacus said.

Cagalli paid for her clothes. After that, Cagalli asked, “So, where to next?”

“Hmm, it’s… Wow!” Cagalli said, surprised. “I never knew I’d shop for clothes for about 2 hours.” Lacus just giggled at what Cagalli said.

In Plant, Kira, Shin, Athrun, Lunamaria, Meyrin and Daerka is waiting for their take off.

“I can’t believe I’m going to see Mirialia again.” Daerka said, love is in his eyes.

“Dude, I’m not so sure about that. Last time, we left you and Mirialia alone for about 5 minutes and you already have bruises all over your face.” Shin said. Everyone had a flashback about that day.

FLASHBACK

It was during the winter, Shin, Daerka, Lunamaria, Cagalli, Meyrin, Athrun, Lacus and Kira were going to celebrate Christmas with Kira’s mother and the children. Since Athrun and Lacus are a great cook so they decided to cook Christmas dinner. So, Kira, Cagalli, Shin, Meyrin, Lunamaria, Daerka and Mirialia were left to decorate the house.

“Kira, where’s the mistletoe?” Cagalli asked, looking in the box full of Christmas ornaments.

“Aren’t there any in the box?” Kira asked back.

“Nope,” Cagalli answered. She shook her head.

“Maybe it’s still in the basement.” Kira said.

“Let’s go get them than.” Cagalli said. Kira nodded and Cagalli said again, “Hey, guyz, we’re going to the basement to get the mistletoe.”

Shin, Lunamaria, Meyrin, Mirialia and Daerka nodded their head.

After Kira and Cagalli left, Lunamaria said, “We’re not going anywhere if we don’t split up.”

“Onee-chan is right.” Meyrin said. “If we want this house to be decorated fully before tonight, we have to split.”

“I’ll decorate the inside.” Mirialia said.

Immediately, Daerka said, “I’ll decorate Miria- I mean, I’ll help decorate the inside with Mirialia.”

Shin, Lunamaria, Meyrin and Mirialia all looked at Daerka with funny looks. Shin shook his head, “Anyway, since Daerka and Mirialia want to decorate the inside of the house, Meyrin, Luna and I just decorate the outside. Kira and Cagalli will join Mirialia and Daerka after they found the mistletoe so we’re probably going to finish decorating in time.”

All of them nodded and do their tasks.

Mirialia was going to hang the curtains when she fell of the ladder. Fortunately, Daerka caught her before she hit the ground. Their faces are very close to each other. Mirialia just stayed still while Daerka’s face got closer and closer to hers. Before Daerka knew it, Mirialia slapped him. Mirialia stood up while Daerka put his right hand at his red cheek and asked, “What did I do wrong?”

“You were trying to do something impolite.” Mirialia said.

“I did not,” Daerka said. “I was only staring at your angelic face and before I knew it, my face just got closer and closer to yours. It was your beautiful lips that pulled my face like a magnet.”

“What. Did. You. Say?!” Mirialia asked dangerously. And, just like what people always say, ‘If looks could kill’. This time, though, it is slightly different. The saying is, ‘if voices could kill, Daerka would’ve been dead’.

“I repeat,” Mirialia said. “What. Did. You. Say?!” Mirialia asked dangerously.

Daerka gulped, “You have an angelic face?”

Flames burned in Mirialia’s eyes. Before Daerka knew what hit him, Mirialia quickly punched him and kick him and leave bruises everywhere on his body and face.

At that moment, Kira and Cagalli who were at the basement came up because they’ve found the mistletoes. Lacus and Athrun ran from the kitchen to the dining room when they heard noises. And Shin, Luna and Meyrin went into the house because they needed more tools. They were shocked of the scene that awaits them.

Daerka, with bruises everywhere, lay on the floor, while Mirialia just stood there, flames of victory in her eyes.

Kira, Cagalli, Athrun, Lacus, Luna and Meyrin sighed while Shin said, “Daerka, you’ll never learn.”

END OF FLASHBACK

“Hey, I’m sure Milly is delighted to see me.” Daerka said happily, singing a love song.

Sweat drops appeared on Kira’s, Athrun’s, Luna’s, Meyrin’s and Shin’s forehead. “This is so wrong.” The five of them said in unison.

In Orb

“I’m not delighted to see him.” Mirialia said.

Mirialia is at Caridad’s house. That morning, Lacus called her and asked her a favor and she agreed. She was helping Caridad decorate the house for Kira’s, Athrun’s, Luna’s, Shin’s, Meyrin’s and Daerka’s return, without Cagalli knowing, of course.

“Why?” Caridad asked. “I know the boy got the hot for you for years.”

Mirialia shivered, “Just thinking about it made me shivered to my spine.”

Caridad just laughed at what Mirialia said.

“Shuttle 1402 has arrived at 5 p.m.” The operator said. “Thank you for using our shuttle and have a great stay.”

Kira, Athrun, Shin, Luna, Daerka and Meyrin walked out of the International…(A/N: Sorry, I don’t know what it’s called. ^^,)

“Is there anyone who’s going to pick us up, Kira?” Daerka asked.

“Nope,” Kira said.

“Why not?” Athrun asked.

“Well, it’s a surprise.” Kira said, a mischievous glint could be seen in his eyes.

“What are you up to Kira?” Athrun asked. He looked around and saw Shin has the same look in his eyes. Athrun smacked his head and said, “Oh brother.”

“No!!!” Cagalli yelled loudly. And, it is possible that the whole residence of Orb heard her.

“Come on, Cagalli. It’s just a dress.” Lacus said, holding the mint green colored dress Cagalli just bought at the store.

“No, Lacus, I agreed on buying it doesn’t mean I want to wear it right away.” Cagalli cried out.

“Please wear this for the dinner at Misses Caridad’s house, Cagalli.” Lacus pleaded. “Just this once,” she said, putting on the puppy dog eyes Kira thought her before.

“Argh, okay.” Cagalli said when she saw Lacus is using the secret technique, ‘The Puppy Dog Eyes’.

Cagalli changed into the dress. She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed, “I wish Athrun was here.” She whispered softly to herself.

“Achoo,” Athrun sneezed.

The 6 of them are in Kira’s car, on their way to Kira’s mother’s house. Kira is driving, and Athrun is sitting next to him. The others are sitting at the back.

“Are you okay, Athrun?” Meyrin asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Athrun answered.

“I think someone is talking about you.” Luna said.

Athrun just shrugged. He looked at the ocean and thought of Cagalli. At 6:30, they arrived at Kira’s mother’s house.

When Kira opened the front door, it was pitched black inside the house. They all entered and Kira closed the door.

“Kira, what’s going on?” Athrun asked but Kira is no longer beside him.

At that moment, the door opened again. Because outside is also dark, so no light entered the house.

When Athrun heard the door opened, he stood still at his place. Then, he heard a voice said, “Lacus, why is it pitch black?”

And before he knew it, the light to the house opened and Lacus, Kira, Mirialia, Daerka, Shin, Luna, Meyrin, Misses Caridad and the children yelled, “Surprise!”

Athrun and Cagalli were shocked. Well, Cagalli was shocked the most because she had no idea that Athrun is returning to Orb.

“Athrun?” Cagalli said. Athrun nodded. Cagalli ran towards Athrun and hugged him tightly. Athrun returned the tight hug. They never want to let each other go but the loud ‘cough’ that was made by Kira made them broke their hug.

“Hey, Athrun, just because I get you and Cagalli back together doesn’t mean we have to watch you hugging all day.” Kira said.

“Yeah,” Shin added in. “Get a room, why don’t you?”

Athrun looked at Cagalli and said, “Let’s get them.”

Cagalli nodded and both of them look at Kira and Shin like a predator look at their prey. And, guess what, Kira and Shin are the preys.

Shin and Kira yelled in unison, “Run!”

Everyone laughed as Kira and Shin ran out of the house and Cagalli and Athrun chased them from behind. And, believe it or not, Cagalli could run even if she’s wearing a dress.

When they chased them until at the beach, Cagalli and Athrun stopped. “Cagalli, why don’t we sit here for awhile?”

“Sure,” Cagalli said.

Both she and Athrun sat on the big rock, their view is towards the beach. It is a full moon so it is not that dark.

“You’re wearing a dress?” Athrun said.

Cagalli blushed, “Yeah, I am.”

“You look beautiful.” Athrun said in a whisper.

Cagalli blushed brighter. “T-Thank you,” she said.

“Cagalli,” Athrun said again. “I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” Cagalli asked, looking at Athrun.

Athrun stood up and faced Cagalli. “Cagalli, I love you. But I was afraid to confess my true feelings.”

Cagalli is too stunned to say anything.

Athrun kneeled in front of Cagalli. He took a small box out of his pocket and said, looking in Cagalli’s eyes, “I bought this months ago but I don’t know how to tell you since we lose contact. Will you marry me?” He opened the box and revealed a beautiful diamond ring.

Cagalli gasped at first. But then, she launched herself on Athrun. Both of them fell on the sand, Cagalli on top of Athrun.

Cagalli answered, “Yes, Athrun, yes, I will marry you.”

Still in their position, Athrun put the ring at Cagalli’s finger. They kissed for about a few seconds and then broke apart. Then, they hug each other, even if Cagalli is still on top of Athrun, lying on the sand.

From behind the tall coconut tree, not too far from Cagalli and Athrun, two figures watched the whole thing.

“Kira, your plan worked out well.” The first figure said.

“It’s because of Shin’s and the others help, and also yours, Lacus.” Kira said.

“Thank you, Kira.” Lacus said. Kira and Lacus kissed each other.
